Fauci documentary marks AP foray into film

A documentary co-produced by AP examining the career of Dr. Anthony Fauci will air on up to 200 PBS stations across the U.S.

“Fauci: The Virus Hunter” was produced by AP in collaboration with South Florida PBS’ Health Channel and the Hispanic Information and Telecommunications Network.

Most PBS stations will air the feature-length documentary beginning today.

It chronicles Fauci’s contributions to science and medicine through interviews with colleagues and friends of the nation’s leading infectious-disease expert. The film also features an interview with AP reporter Jill Colvin, as well as AP archival footage and AP photos illustrating Fauci’s career.

The documentary was developed by AP Productions, a division of The Associated Press that develops a media projects in the form of original short films, documentaries, mini-series, podcasts and books. “Fauci: The Virus Hunter” is its first co-production to receive wide distribution.
